GAËTAN DEVOS

DIRECTOR IKMF BELGIUM

As with a lot of self defence classes and martial arts, there are several organisations that practice Krav Maga. We approach this as a good thing as the popularity of this efficient system continues to grow.

We respect many of these organisations, however we believe the IKMF is the gold standard if you want to learn Krav Maga.

This is because the IKMF is the original and most veteran Krav Maga organization in the world.  It was founded with the involvement of the "father of Krav Maga", Imi Lichtenfeld, in order to meet a strong worldwide demand for these effective techniques.

With Imi's involvement, this organization and its high standards quickly emerged as the leading and true source of Krav Maga around the world.

OUR INSTRUCTORS

The high IKMF standard begins with them.

In short: you know that you can expect quality

when you train at an IKMF club!

UP-TO-DATE

New techniques and teaching methods, such as Kids Krav Maga and the integration of functional training, such as kettlebell training. It is also possible that research or practice shows that a technique can be improved. This is then adjusted and communicated to all instructors.

The current instructor team does an amazing job at keeping Krav Maga up to date, fluid and fresh, yet still a solid and well organized system.

PROFESSIONAL

All Krav Maga instructors in the IKMF Belgium regularly attend central training sessions led by members of the Global Instructor Team, alternating with high-level national instructors.

This way they stay informed of the latest developments in the field of Krav Maga. During these training courses they also regularly take exams themselves.

UNIFORM

The exams for certain degrees are administered centrally by an Israeli top instructor and/or Belgian expert levels.

This ensures that everyone uses the same techniques and that variants that may be less effective are eliminated.
